#05-016  "Crown of Thorns" sculpture or giant rattle

   An impressive crown of thorns sculpture that has great presence and if you shake it - it rattles.  We have seen this form in a much smaller size and referred to as a "rattle," but this folk art construction is a giant and speaks "sculpture."   This carving of interlocking and self supporting sticks was found in Germany so call it "continental."   Some items are better seen to be believed and this is one.  Dates to the early 1900s.  14 3/4 high x 11 diameter.   Offered at  $550.00
